Nobuyoshi ARAKI


Born in Tokyo, 1940. His first appearance was with "Sacchin", a photograph of a girl down town Tokyo in 1964. In 1972, he became a freelance photographer. Known as a photographer with eroticism and "private photographs". Araki concentrates on private documentaries. The best known series of his books are "Sentimental Journey". He presents his works as photo books which contains totally private scenes, but he enables them to be shared by other viewers. He is so active that had published over 300 books. "ARAKI Nobuyoshi Sentimental Photography, Sentimental Life" Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo 1999 and many other exhibitions all over the world.
